Why Is It So Hard to Get a Job?

Companies are posting jobs everyday. There could be a few factors working against you if you have not gotten any hits from recruiters.

1. The supply is greater than the demand. When so many people are applying for the same position your resume or application may be at risk for consideration. Make sure your qualifications are specific to that position and easily seen.

2. No referrals. People are more likely to review a referral or recommendation from someone they respect. Ask people who think highly of you to help you network or to refer you. You can also work with a staffing company for support.

 3. Applying for the wrong job. Maybe the job you're going after is just unrealistic for now. Make sure you are going after the right position. Consider broadening your job choices. Your skill set may point you in a different direction.

Although the market is competitive don't lose hope. Keep putting out those resumes. You only need one yes.
