The Consistent Bird Gets the Worm

Searching for jobs and moving on in the midst of 100 rejection emails can be tiring but don't give up. In the meantime bills have to be paid so how can you speed up this process and survive in the in-between time?
  • Consider a part-time job: Find something that will help you take care of a few bills while you search.
  • Assess your gifts and outsource your self: Assess your skill-set and offer businesses your services as a contract employee.
  • Network: Ask friends and strangers to be on the alert of an opportunity for you and move fast. Sign up for local lists.
  • Check out the staffing agencies: Stay in touch with the staffing agencies. They are likely to have leads that you don't have.
With such a competitive job market it may be difficult to be the first to apply for a job but if your name keeps popping up on a staffing recruiter's list they are more likely to keep you in mind. It's not just the early bird that gets the worm, but the consistent one.
